Measuring Guide for Compression Stockings

Measuring your legs for compression stockings, support socks, support hose, and gradient compression hosiery:.

  • For knee-highs: measure around your ankle and calf. Then, measure the distance from the floor to the back of your knee.
  • For thigh-high and pantyhose: measure around your ankle, calf, and upper thigh. Then, measure the distance from the floor to your upper thigh (bottom of your buttocks).

An Important Measuring Tip...
If swelling is an issue with you, measure your legs, first thing in the morning, after you get out of bed. This is when swelling is at a minimum, and the size of your legs should remain once the swelling is eliminated. Each of our compression products has a sizing chart on the product page.

Measure around the ankle at the narrowest point, generally above the ankle bone.
Measure around the calf muscle at the widest part.
Measure from the floor to the bend behind the knee.
Measure around the thigh approx. 3" below the gluteal fold (crease of buttocks).
Measure the distance from the bottom of your buttocks to the floor.

Sizes may differ between various brands of support stockings. Keep in mind that each manufacturer of support hose has their own sizing chart. A medium size in one brand of circulation stockings, may not be a medium in another. Some brands of compression stockings offer petite (shorter) lengths, while others do not. Knowing your measurements will ensure you get compression hosiery that fits properly and comfortably.

The most affordable, best-performing compression stockings around!

For someone on a budget, I've found these support stockings to be the best solution.

If you're not looking to spend a whole lot of circulation stockings, these might be for you. I've found that they work just as well as the full-priced series.

It seems like Jobst has a way of filling every little niche, and they've definitely done that with the relief economy - affordable, yet highly effective.

These are great because they offer durable compression support at 1/3 the price of other Jobst Medical Legwear. I only buy Jobst because they fit me best and last a long time. I will continue to buy Jobst for the rest of my life because I trust it. I tried the other brands and was not satisfied.

I think these are of a slightly lesser quality than the other Jobst series, but for the price, you really can't beat them.

I have used these for years. Eventually the toes will wear thru so I just cut out the toe and wear a sock with them.
I can wear them for a few days then have to wash them to tighten them up and you are good to go again. I put them in the dryer on low and hang up afterwards if not dry.

I have known I had "CVI" for years, and have on again off again tried stockings to help with the problem; until recently when the problem has gotten horrible. After my doctor told me the knee highs were contributing to my problem, and I needed to start wearing thigh highs, I went to a local store that sold them to buy and try a pair of Jobst for men, which were actually the same price as the Relief; and I started to notice an almost immediate difference. But, in the Texas heat I knew I was going to have to own several pair; so I checked on line finding this vendor. Their pricing for this Jobst Relief 15-20 mmHg Closed Toe Thigh Highs with Silicone Top Band is unbelievable; and it is the exact same support stocking that the local supplier is selling for double the price. I ordered two beige and two black, and one pair of the Jobst Relief 20-30 mmHg Closed Toe Pantyhose style. And I find that the Relief {unisex} line stays up and in place much better than the Jobst for Men. My foot and leg swelling has gone down considerably; my leg pain has reduced at least 25 to 35%, and my foot pain has reduced at least 60 to 70%, without the doctor doing any of the other things he has planned. Now that I know these do provide some relief, I will order some more of this style while they are on sale at this price to add to the five different ones I purchase from this site, and one pair from my local store. Great product for the money.
