Measuring Guide for Compression Stockings

Measuring your legs for compression stockings, support socks, support hose, and gradient compression hosiery:.

  • For knee-highs: measure around your ankle and calf. Then, measure the distance from the floor to the back of your knee.
  • For thigh-high and pantyhose: measure around your ankle, calf, and upper thigh. Then, measure the distance from the floor to your upper thigh (bottom of your buttocks).

An Important Measuring Tip...
If swelling is an issue with you, measure your legs, first thing in the morning, after you get out of bed. This is when swelling is at a minimum, and the size of your legs should remain once the swelling is eliminated. Each of our compression products has a sizing chart on the product page.

Measure around the ankle at the narrowest point, generally above the ankle bone.
Measure around the calf muscle at the widest part.
Measure from the floor to the bend behind the knee.
Measure around the thigh approx. 3" below the gluteal fold (crease of buttocks).
Measure the distance from the bottom of your buttocks to the floor.

Sizes may differ between various brands of support stockings. Keep in mind that each manufacturer of support hose has their own sizing chart. A medium size in one brand of circulation stockings, may not be a medium in another. Some brands of compression stockings offer petite (shorter) lengths, while others do not. Knowing your measurements will ensure you get compression hosiery that fits properly and comfortably.

This is the only line of support hosiery that I've ever worn, or will continue to wear. Thank you for making such a great product.

I own several different types of this line of hosiery, and I can't say enough good things about them. They do exactly what they say they're going to do.

I'm an elderly lady with deep vein thrombosis, and these have made it convenient to treat the condition, while still looking elegant.

Every major brand of compression stockings seems to have a "sheer line", I've tried a few others (because I wanted to look elegant while treating my CVI), but these work the best.

Comfort, support, and style all in one!

These felt good when I put them on, but they fell down after wearing them for not even an hour. I was very disappointed. I may get a smaller size, but not sure because I don't want them to be so tight they hurt. Other compression socks I buy are usually very very tight in the same size, but these perhaps run big? Not sure, but so disappointed about the falling down stockings.

Don't buy Truform knee high item #1773ND-S they will not stay up. They keep falling down. I wore this brand for years. Purchased 6 pairs costing 84.00 I just wasted my money. The company would not help me take care of this problem.
