Measuring Guide for Compression Stockings

Measuring your legs for compression stockings, support socks, support hose, and gradient compression hosiery:.

  • For knee-highs: measure around your ankle and calf. Then, measure the distance from the floor to the back of your knee.
  • For thigh-high and pantyhose: measure around your ankle, calf, and upper thigh. Then, measure the distance from the floor to your upper thigh (bottom of your buttocks).

An Important Measuring Tip...
If swelling is an issue with you, measure your legs, first thing in the morning, after you get out of bed. This is when swelling is at a minimum, and the size of your legs should remain once the swelling is eliminated. Each of our compression products has a sizing chart on the product page.

Ankle ANKLE
Measure around the ankle at the narrowest point, generally above the ankle bone.
CALF
Measure around the calf muscle at the widest part.
Calf
LENGTH
Measure from the floor to the bend behind the knee.
Length
THIGH
Measure around the thigh approx. 3" below the gluteal fold (crease of buttocks).
Thigh
THIGH LENGTH
Measure the distance from the bottom of your buttocks to the floor.
Thigh

Sizes may differ between various brands of support stockings. Keep in mind that each manufacturer of support hose has their own sizing chart. A medium size in one brand of circulation stockings, may not be a medium in another. Some brands of compression stockings offer petite (shorter) lengths, while others do not. Knowing your measurements will ensure you get compression hosiery that fits properly and comfortably.

This is the only line of support hosiery that I've ever worn, or will continue to wear. Thank you for making such a great product.

I own several different types of this line of hosiery, and I can't say enough good things about them. They do exactly what they say they're going to do.

I'm an elderly lady with deep vein thrombosis, and these have made it convenient to treat the condition, while still looking elegant.

Every major brand of compression stockings seems to have a "sheer line", I've tried a few others (because I wanted to look elegant while treating my CVI), but these work the best.

Comfort, support, and style all in one!

I highly suggest that anyone suffering from chronic circulation issues look into purchasing the Forte. I wear these all the time, and they've done a lot of good for me.

These pantyhose are great for retail workers who stand on our feet 8 hours a day. Guys give these a try. You won't be disappointed if you need full legs coverage. I wear with shorts too. Nobody cares. Legs health is more important than what others think or say. Walk proud and be yourself.

These are great wearing! They feel good and make my legs feel good, whether I am standing or sitting or whatever. Thanks!

Because a bad case of CVI, I am required to wear support hose for relief and to avoid sores; I use different weights and brands for treatment. I have found TRUFORM Women's LITES 15-20 mmHg Pantyhose to be extremely comfortable because they offer excellent support, while being slightly cooler because of being more sheer than some of the unisex brands, and because of the generous panty providing more room and reducing any roll. They can also be worn with shorts without being noticed. Wearing any hose under jeans or pants is so hot, and while these sheers are cooler, shorts are cooler; if men's fashions would have kept up to women's, a jean skirt would have probably even been much cooler yet.
