Measure around the ankle at the narrowest point, generally above the ankle bone.
Measure around the calf muscle at the widest part.
Measure from the floor to the bend behind the knee.
Measure around the thigh approximately 3" below the gluteal fold (crease of the buttocks).
Measure the distance from the bottom of your buttocks to the floor.
Sizes may differ between various brands of support stockings—each manufacturer has their own sizing chart. A medium in one brand may not be a medium in another, and some brands offer petite (shorter) lengths while others do not. "I need a sock aid to reach my toes and heel. I put the stocking on my sock aid. It compressed the sock aid so much that I couldn't put my foot through the sock aid to enable getting the stocking over my heel. No part of my foot touched the stocking, only the sock aid. If I can't get my foot into the sock aid then I can't get the stocking on. Would try the next larger size but was not available."
