Collection: Farrow Medical — FarrowWrap® Compression Systems

FarrowWrap® — Adjustable Compression Made Simple

FarrowWrap® is a patented line of short-stretch compression wrap systems developed by Farrow Medical, an Essity brand, and now manufactured as JOBST FarrowWrap® by BSN Medical (also part of Essity). FarrowWrap uses hook-and-loop (Velcro®) closures rather than the pull-on construction of traditional compression stockings, making it dramatically easier to apply — especially for patients with lymphedema, severe swelling, or limited hand strength and mobility.

Conditions Treated

FarrowWrap is used for lymphedema (primary and secondary), chronic venous insufficiency, post-thrombotic syndrome, severe edema, venous leg ulcers, and mixed venous-lymphatic disorders where consistent and adjustable compression is clinically required.

A regular compression stocking is a pull-on garment with fixed compression built into its elastic construction. FarrowWrap uses hook-and-loop (Velcro®) closures to wrap around the limb and be secured at adjustable tension — so the wearer or caregiver can fine-tune the compression rather than relying on a fixed elastic size. This makes it far easier to apply for patients who struggle with pull-on stockings, and allows compression to be adjusted as swelling fluctuates through the day — something a fixed stocking cannot do.

FarrowWrap garments use short-stretch technology: they provide low resting compression when the patient is still, and higher working compression when the leg muscles are active and the limb presses against the garment. This adaptable compression improves both venous and lymphatic function and is particularly effective for conditions with fluctuating limb volume, where a fixed-size pull-on stocking cannot maintain consistent pressure.

The FarrowWrap Range

  • FarrowWrap Lite — for mild to moderate leg swelling. The lightest and most flexible option in the range.
  • FarrowWrap Basic — an economical option for moderate swelling. Machine washable and dryer safe (no heat).
  • FarrowWrap 4000 — the easiest FarrowWrap to apply. An inner elastic sleeve holds the garment in place during application.
  • FarrowWrap Strong — for moderate to severe swelling from venous, lymphatic and mixed disorders. Includes a silicone band for additional security.
  • FarrowWrap Classic — for advanced lymphedema and complex edema, including a thighpiece with wrap-around knee option.
  • FarrowWrap Trim-To-Fit (TTF) — can be customised and trimmed to fit the patient's exact limb dimensions at the point of care. Can replace short-stretch bandaging.
  • Farrow Hybrid Stockings & Liners — combines a stocking-style liner with a FarrowWrap footpiece for a hybrid compression solution.
  • Farrowmed Accessories — including microfine toe caps and antimicrobial silver liners for complete system management.

Yes — FarrowWrap Trim-To-Fit (TTF) specifically is designed as a replacement for short-stretch bandaging used in lymphedema and edema management. It uses the same short-stretch compression technology as bandaging but is faster and easier to apply for both patients and therapists. The Trim-To-Fit design means the garment can be customised at the clinic to fit the patient's limb exactly, and trimmed down as the limb reduces with treatment — eliminating the need to purchase multiple sizes as edema reduces.

Yes, in many cases. The federal Lymphedema Treatment Act requires Medicare to cover medically necessary compression garments for diagnosed lymphedema, which includes FarrowWrap systems when prescribed. Private insurers often follow suit. You will need a physician's prescription and relevant diagnosis codes. Coverage may also apply to venous conditions when medical necessity is documented. Contact your insurer and ask your physician's office to prepare the documentation needed for your claim.

The right FarrowWrap product depends on where swelling occurs. A legpiece covers the calf and lower leg. A footpiece covers the foot and ankle. A thighpiece extends coverage above the knee. Most patients with lower-leg lymphedema or edema use a legpiece and footpiece together as a complete system. Your certified lymphedema therapist or prescribing physician will specify exactly which pieces are needed based on where swelling is present and your treatment plan. FarrowWrap components are designed to work together as a coordinated system.
