Measure around the ankle at the narrowest point, generally above the ankle bone.
Measure around the calf muscle at the widest part.
Measure from the floor to the bend behind the knee.
Measure around the thigh approximately 3" below the gluteal fold (crease of the buttocks).
Measure the distance from the bottom of your buttocks to the floor.

A medium in one brand may not be a medium in another, and some brands offer petite (shorter) lengths while others do not. "I had in the past been ordering stockings from Jobst & mistakenly thought that is who I was ordering these from. I'm not sure why, but I could not get these 'Large' Size on, only unpacked one pair, I'm 82 & still very strong in my hands but could not get the Large Size on my feet & pulled up, the Jobst Large I get on with little or no problem. Is it possible to return the other 2 unopened pair for a Refund? A day or two before trying the one pair on, I had nicked my fingers with a chain saw & soiled that one pair with some little spots of blood & will not return them. If anyone cares to contact me to discuss, I'm out of town in Arizona, but can be reached at (352) 453-9140."
