OTC grades every product on a three-point scale. Medium provides compressive support with semi-rigid reinforcement — for mild to moderate conditions that need some stabilisation, and for post-injury use. More reinforcement is not automatically better — a higher grade restricts movement you may still need. Our learning centre explains how the grades differ.

Sizing is taken around the ankle at the smallest point. Measure against bare skin with the tape snug but not constricting, and choose the size that corresponds to your measurement on the chart shown on this page. If your measurement falls between sizes, or if swelling materially affects the measurement, contact us or consult a fitter before ordering.

Follow the application instructions supplied with the product. Position it so any shaped, padded or splinted section sits where it is designed to sit, then tighten fastenings evenly rather than pulling one tight first. It should feel firm and secure without causing numbness, tingling, discolouration or increased pain. Build up wearing time gradually rather than wearing it all day from the start.

Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent, close any hook-and-loop fastenings first so they do not catch the fabric, and air dry away from direct heat. Do not machine dry, bleach or iron.
