Truform Classic Medical Thigh High 30-40 mmHg — Extra Firm Full-Leg Support with a Silicone Dot Stay-Up Top

Truform Classic Medical thigh highs deliver 30-40 mmHg extra firm graduated compression from ankle to mid-thigh, held in place by a silicone dot stay-up top designed to stay in place without constricting the leg. The classic smooth knit texture helps conceal unsightly conditions and can be worn over dressings. This sits in Truform's extra firm compression class, indicated for severe varicosities, severe edema, lymphatic edema, chronic venous insufficiency, and the prevention and management of venous ulcerations.

  • 30-40 mmHg Extra Firm Gradient: Truform measures the pressure gradient at six points from ankle to proximal thigh to check its distribution.
  • Concealing Smooth-Knit Fabric: A classic knit texture in basic neutral colours for all-occasion wear.
  • Silicone Dot Stay-Up Top: A silicone-lined band designed to keep the stocking in place through the day without constricting the leg.
  • Roomy Closed Toe Box: A roomy, reinforced toe box designed not to compress the toes.
  • Standard and Larger Sizes: Standard and larger sizes are available across the range.
  • Latex Free: Contains no natural rubber latex.
  • Helps Manage Severe Varicosities: Supports distended veins at the pressure class indicated for advanced varicose disease.
  • Helps Control Severe Edema: Limits fluid accumulation along the whole lower limb, including above the knee.
  • Supports Lymphatic Edema: Provides sustained containment pressure for lower-limb lymphoedema.
  • Supports Chronic Venous Insufficiency: Counters venous reflux and the aching, heaviness and skin changes of CVI.
  • Helps Prevent and Manage Venous Ulceration: Addresses the venous hypertension underlying skin breakdown.
  • Aids Post-Surgical Recovery: Commonly prescribed after vein procedures to support healing and reduce recurrence.
  • Severe varicosities
  • Severe or lymphatic edema
  • Chronic venous insufficiency (CVI)
  • Venous ulceration prevention and management
  • Post-thrombotic syndrome
  • Post-sclerotherapy and post-surgical recovery

Do not use compression stockings if the patient has any of the following conditions: severe arterial insufficiency, uncontrolled congestive heart failure, skin infections, red or sensitive skin, hardening of the skin or untreated leg ulcers. Consult physician before application for patients with: impaired sensitivity of the limb, sensitivity to the garment material, or any circulatory disorders.

A unisex closed toe thigh-high stocking from Truform's Classic Medical range, knit in a concealing smooth knit, finished with silicone dot top. It delivers 30-40 mmHg extra firm graduated compression. Most wearers are managing an advanced venous condition under clinical guidance. Browse the Truform Classic Medical line.

The numbers are the pressure at the ankle, measured in millimetres of mercury, decreasing as the garment moves up the limb. At 30-40 mmHg this is Truform's extra-firm class — the strongest standard level. Truform indicates it for severe varicosities, severe edema, lymphatic edema, chronic venous insufficiency, helping prevent and manage venous ulcerations, post-thrombotic syndrome, orthostatic hypotension, and post-sclerotherapy or post-surgical recovery. It is usually worn on a physician's or certified fitter's recommendation. If you're unsure which level applies, our compression therapy guide explains each one, or see our CVI options.

Compression sizing isn't standardised across brands — a Medium in one brand is often not a Medium in another, so go by your measurements rather than the size you wore last. Measure your ankle at its narrowest point, your calf at its widest and your thigh at its widest, first thing in the morning before swelling builds, against bare skin with the tape snug but not constricting. If your swelling has changed, or you've gained or lost weight, or you're recovering from surgery, re-measure rather than reordering your previous size. Our measuring guide walks through each measurement.

Firm and extra-firm garments are the hardest to put on, and most difficulty comes from technique rather than the garment. Turn the stocking inside out to the heel, work your foot in first, then roll it up the leg in stages rather than pulling from the top. Donning aids such as a stocking donner, donning gloves or a slip sock are worth considering. Full instructions are in our guide to putting on compression stockings.

Wash after each wear in cool or lukewarm water with a gentle solution — never fabric softener or bleach — and always air dry away from direct heat, since a machine dryer permanently damages the elastic. With daily wear and proper care, expect roughly three to six months before the compression declines, so most people rotate two pairs. Full instructions and washing solutions are in our care guide.
