Key Features
- Integrated Two-Part System: Functions as the inner liner that holds wound dressings securely, while the separate outer stocking provides the therapeutic compression (sold separately).
- Secure Wound Dressing Management: Gently but firmly holds primary wound dressings in place, preventing shifting, bunching, or contamination.
- Low Profile & Discreet: Thin and comfortable design allows it to be worn under the outer compression stocking and with any style of shoes for patient convenience.
- Edema Management Support: Works in concert with the outer stocking to effectively manage edema associated with active venous ulcers and impaired healing.
- High Patient Compliance: Features a seamless circular knit construction that is easy to put on, comfortable for extended wear, and promotes consistent use.
- Breathable Fabric: Allows for air circulation to the wound area while maintaining a protective barrier, supporting a moist wound healing environment.
- Packaged for Convenience: Sold in a box of three liners, providing a practical supply for regular dressing changes and laundering rotation.
- Clinically Validated Design: Part of a system specifically engineered and proven for the effective management of venous leg ulcers.
Therapeutic Benefits and Use
- Optimizes Venous Ulcer Healing: Creates the stable, pressurized environment necessary for effective healing of venous leg ulcers after initial edema reduction.
- Prevents Ulcer Recurrence: A critical component of long-term therapy to help prevent the recurrence of venous leg ulcers in patients with chronic venous insufficiency.
- Manages Severe Edema: Supports the reduction and control of significant swelling (edema) that impedes ulcer healing and compromises skin integrity.
- Promotes Healthy Blood Flow: When used with the outer stocking, the system delivers sustained high compression to promote healthy blood flow and reduce venous hypertension.
- Addresses Underlying CVI: Treats the root cause of venous ulcers—chronic venous insufficiency—by providing consistent, graduated compression.
- Protects Peri-Wound Skin: Helps protect the fragile skin surrounding the ulcer from further breakdown, maceration, and irritation.
- Facilitates Outpatient Management: Enables effective, high-level compression therapy to be managed safely and comfortably at home, improving quality of life.
- Enhances Dressing Effectiveness: Keeps advanced wound dressings (e.g., hydrocolloids, foams) in optimal contact with the wound bed for maximum therapeutic effect.

Frequently Asked Questions
How does the two-part UlcerCARE system work?
First, the wound is dressed. Then, this liner is applied over the dressing to hold it in place. Finally, the separate outer compression stocking is pulled over the liner. The liner protects the wound and ensures even pressure distribution from the outer stocking.
How do I choose the right size for knee high compression stockings?
Accurate measurement is crucial for effective compression and comfort. Please refer to our detailed compression stocking sizing guide. Sizing for the UlcerCARE system is critical and should be done by a healthcare professional.
Can I wear the liner by itself for compression?
No. The liner provides minimal compression. Its primary function is to secure the dressing and interface with the outer stocking. Therapeutic compression is provided ONLY when the outer stocking is worn over the liner.
How often do I need to change/wash the liner?
The liner should be changed and washed daily, or whenever the wound dressing is changed, to maintain hygiene. Having multiple liners (sold in a 3-pack) allows for rotation while others are being washed.
Is the outer stocking sold separately?
Yes, the JOBST UlcerCARE Outer Stocking (Knee High or Zippered) is purchased separately. Both components are required for the system to function therapeutically.
Who should use this system?
It is prescribed for patients with venous leg ulcers that have been assessed by a doctor or wound care specialist. It is not for general swelling or simple varicose veins.

How to Properly Measure and Apply Compression Stockings
Sizes may differ between various brands of support stockings. Keep in mind that each manufacturer of support hose has their own sizing chart.
