Measuring your legs for compression stockings, support socks, support hose, and gradient
compression hosiery:.

For knee-highs: measure around your ankle and calf.
Then, measure the distance from the floor to the back of your knee. -
For thigh-high and pantyhose: measure around your ankle, calf, and
upper thigh.
Then, measure the distance from the floor to your upper thigh (bottom of your buttocks).

"As I have aged, I am now am struggling with pre diabetes(metabolic syndrome). I have had to change my compression purchases. I went with the open toe, (less than 16 inches long) sock to wear with my boxed toe shoe. Regular shoes and full toe-in socks put pressure on my great toes and all my great nail edges were in constant pain. That is now resolved. My feet and toes are somewhat numb, only compounding my problems. I have worn compression socks to control edema for over 20 years. I am very happy at my changed style of socks and shoes. I am pain free now. I do not know why I have worn such constricting garments on my diabetic feet for so long. Longer than I needed. Also, my old sock purchases did not have the shorter socks either and would intensify the pressure on my knees. These are great."
