Collection: Shop All Women's Compression

Compression stockings for women apply gentle, graduated pressure to the legs to support circulation and help relieve tired, achy, or swollen legs. They are widely used for everyday leg fatigue, standing or desk-bound work, travel, pregnancy, varicose veins, and post-surgical recovery — and today's styles look and feel far more like everyday hosiery than a medical device.

This collection brings together every women's compression style we carry, so you can shop by look, brand, and compression level in one place. Choose from knee-high compression socks and stockings, thigh-highs, compression pantyhose and tights, footless leggings, and open- or closed-toe options — from trusted names like JOBST, SIGVARIS, Juzo, and Therafirm.

Compression levels for women

  • 8-15 mmHg (mild): everyday energizing support for tired legs and light swelling.
  • 15-20 mmHg (moderate): the most popular over-the-counter level for travel, pregnancy, and prevention.
  • 20-30 mmHg (firm): commonly chosen for varicose veins and moderate swelling.
  • 30-40 mmHg (extra firm): typically worn under the guidance of a healthcare provider.

Not sure of your size? Measure your ankle, calf, and (for thigh-highs) thigh in the morning, and check each product's size chart. If you are managing a diagnosed venous condition, your healthcare provider can help you choose the right style and compression level.

Start by identifying why you want compression. For everyday comfort, travel, or tired legs, a 15–20 mmHg knee-high is the most common entry point and needs no prescription. If you have a diagnosed condition like varicose veins or lymphedema, visit our condition pages or ask your doctor about the right level. Our certified fitters can guide you to the right style and size.

Knee-highs cover the lower leg and are easiest to put on — ideal for ankle and calf swelling. Thigh-highs extend support above the knee for varicose veins or higher swelling. Pantyhose provides full-leg plus abdominal coverage, popular during pregnancy. Footless leggings and calf sleeves give compression without covering the foot, which suits active wear.

It depends on your needs. JOBST is prized for clinical reliability and durability, SIGVARIS for premium softness and fashionable styles, Juzo for lymphedema and hard-to-fit needs, and Therafirm, Activa, and Second Skin for everyday value. We carry all of them so you can compare compression level, fabric, and price side by side.

Compression is sized by your leg measurements, not shoe or dress size. Measure your ankle circumference, calf circumference, and (for thigh-highs) thigh circumference first thing in the morning before swelling builds. Each brand has its own chart — our Measuring Guide walks you through it, and our fitters can confirm by phone.

No prescription is required to purchase any level, including 20–30 mmHg and above. For levels of 20–30 mmHg or higher, we recommend consulting your doctor to confirm it's appropriate for your condition. A prescription may also make your purchase tax-exempt in some states and eligible for FSA/HSA reimbursement.
