Indications & Usage Notes

Indications: Nonspecific pain in the thigh area, hamstring strain or injury, mild muscle and tendon pain, heat retention and compression. Please note: This is an orthopaedic support, not a compression garment. Fit it snugly but never tightly enough to cause numbness, tingling, discolouration or increased pain, and loosen or remove it if any of these occur. Take care over broken or fragile skin and recent surgical sites, and consult your physician or a certified fitter before use if you have reduced sensation or a circulatory condition in the limb.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the OTC Neoprene Thigh Support with Oval Pad?

An orthopaedic support for the thigh from the OTC Professional Orthopaedic range, rated minimum degree of support. OTC indicates it for nonspecific pain in the thigh area, hamstring strain or injury, mild muscle and tendon pain, heat retention and compression. Browse all OTC braces and supports.

What does minimum degree of support mean?

OTC grades every product on a three-point scale. Minimum provides compressive support without reinforcement — for weak and aching muscles and joints, after recovery, or to help prevent injury. More reinforcement is not automatically better — a higher grade restricts movement you may still need. Our learning centre explains how the grades differ.

How do I choose the right size?

Sizing is taken around the middle of the thigh. Measure against bare skin with the tape snug but not constricting, and choose the size that corresponds to your measurement on the chart shown on this page. If your measurement falls between sizes, or if swelling materially affects the measurement, contact us or consult a fitter before ordering.

How do I fit and wear it?

Follow the application instructions supplied with the product. Position it so any shaped, padded or splinted section sits where it is designed to sit, then tighten fastenings evenly rather than pulling one tight first. It should feel firm and secure without causing numbness, tingling, discolouration or increased pain. Build up wearing time gradually rather than wearing it all day from the start.

How do I care for it?

Hand wash in cool water with a mild detergent, close any hook-and-loop fastenings first so they do not catch the fabric, and air dry away from direct heat. Do not machine dry, bleach or iron.
