The numbers are the pressure at the ankle in millimetres of mercury, decreasing along the limb. 20-30 mmHg is the firm class, indicated for legs that ache and tire, established varicose veins, varicose veins in pregnancy, moderate leg swelling. Our compression therapy guide explains each level.

Yes. This style runs from Small to 2X-Large. Plus sizes are graded on calf circumference rather than clothing size, so measure your ankle and calf first thing in the morning before swelling builds and match those numbers to the chart on this page. Our measuring guide walks through each measurement.

Turn the garment inside out to the heel, work the foot in first, then roll it up the limb in stages rather than pulling from the top, which stretches the band. Rubber gloves or a donning aid make it easier. Full instructions are in our guide to putting on compression stockings.

Wash after each wear in cool or lukewarm water with a gentle solution — never fabric softener or bleach — and air dry away from direct heat. Most people rotate two pairs so a clean, dry pair is always ready. Full instructions and washing solutions are in our care guide.

"I love them. But I wish they were a little shorter."

"Working well. Seems sturdy support"

They're a bit of trouble but great at reducing leg pain. Love 'em!

"I've been using these stockings (black color) for years now and they serve me well. I have worsening varicose veins and feet that swell. Even if I'm sitting at a desk working. Without these my legs really hurt. I sometimes put knee high stockings over them for increased compression. And the silicone dots work well at holding the stockings up, which eliminates the need for garters or garter belts. Closed toe may trap moisture and cause fungus growth between toes & on toe nails so you may have to use O. T. C. anti-fungal lotion. The heels are vulnerable to holes from shoe wear so I wear cheap & short & thin "sacrificial socklets" over the compression stockings when wearing shoes to protect them. Best to hand clean them with mild dish soap like Ivory in warm water. I've gotten away with machine laundering them with cold water & delicate cycle if they get gamey. But do NOT put them in the clothes dryer or hand wring them. Hang dry them on your shower curtain rod. And of course, be careful when pulling them on to not over stretch the fabric & cause runs or tears. And smooth out wrinkles so they don't bite into and hurt your skin. And getting the right size is important so as to get the right degree of compression - might want to order single pairs & test them to get that just right. Care & feeding of these stockings is bit of work & bother, but it's been worth it because of the comfort & pain relief."

The same, but not the same

"I have been buying this product for years. It is a good price and usually they last me several months before a whole gets in them but unfortunately the last time I bought it it seems like the material was different and I got a hole on them within a month when usually it takes about three or four months, so a little disappointed if they changed the way they made them. I just ordered another pair. Can’t really tell if the material is the same or different but fingers crossed."

A hole appeared within days

"A hole appeared within days of wearing, which is steadily growing in size. Otherwise, good product. I have sent an email mail to the company, and will update my rating depending on response or lack thereof."

The top doesn't stay up the thigh.

"They are fine except that the thigh part does not stay all the way up. The work their way down to just above the knees"

Orgo A. (4/5)

I love the second skin

"I love the second skin products. I bought the thigh high in black because it is not offered in knee high. I would rather have silicone top, knee high, 20-30 and in black for winter fashions. Please offer black knee high in second skin. Thank you"

Jeannette L. (5/5)

I bought the thigh high

"I bought the thigh high compression stockings because I had a knee colapse on me and I didn't like the knee brace. The stockings feel real good I' not sure if they are working or not but I haven't had a knee colapse since."
